Amiee Martin Smith indicted for tax evasion at Shooter’s Depot

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The former co-owner of the Shooter’s Depot on Shallowford Road has been indicted for tax evasion.

The charges follow an investigation by the Tennessee Department of Revenue.

Aimee Martin Smith of Bradley County was indicted by a Hamilton County Grand Jury last week for 39 counts of tax evasion and one count of theft.

Prosecutors say she failed to file sales tax returns for Shooter’s Depot, LLC between 2014 through 2017.

The store is no longer in business.

The Shallowford Road location suffered a fire in 2018.

“The Department of Revenue promotes voluntary taxpayer compliance by educating taxpayers, aggressively pursuing criminal sanctions and demanding accountability when taxpayers engage in fraudulent activity,” Revenue Commissioner David Gerregano said. “This indictment underscores the department’s ongoing efforts to enforce Tennessee’s tax laws.”
