Animal Hero Summer Camp making return at HES

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Families looking for one more summer activity have an option in Chattanooga.

The Humane Educational Society (HES) is holding their second straight summer camp starting July 17.

The camp gives kids a chance to learn all things about our four-legged friends.

They will get the chance to create crafts, understand the needs of shelter pets and learn about how the shelter operates.

HES hopes that this camp can create the next generation of animal lovers.

We need a lot of kindness in our society, so we hope this program… and so this program teaches the kids to be kind to each other, kind to animals and to think critically about them,” Educational Manager at HES, Jeanine Cloyd said.

You can apply online for the summer program.

These will be half-day camps.

The first week is for 2nd and 3rd grade, and the second week is for 4th and 5th grade.

The cost is $190.
