CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The sale has gone through to turn another of Chattanooga’s old Southside foundries into a new mixed-use development.

The Eureka Foundry shut down after 121 years last summer on Main Street, next to the Finley Stadium parking lot.

The plant focused on Iron Casting since its founding in 1902.

But a local development company bought the property to redevelop.

They have not announced their plans, but Riverside Development specializes in housing and mixed-use commercial properties.

And the owner promises that the new development will pay homage to the foundry’s history.
