Apartment fire ruled accidental

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Everyone is safe after an apartment fire on Mountain Creek Road.

Around 4:30 Thursday afternoon, firefighters got a report of a fire at the Rise at Signal Mountain Apartment complex.

A fire was found coming from the kitchen of one of the units.

The building was evacuated, and firefighters were able to get the blaze out in under ten minutes.

“They did a great job, attacked it quickly, and kept the fire to the kitchen in one apartment unit.  The other nine units were unaffected by the fire,” Chattanooga Fire P.I.O. Bruce Garner said.

No one was injured, but the fire did displace a family of two adults and two children.

The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental.
