Aquarium pump sparks small fire in Lakesite home
LAKESITE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Dallas Bay fire crews put out a fire caused by an aquarium filter pump Wednesday morning.
On September 3, 2025, at 10:29 a.m., crews responded to a residence on Thrasher Trail.
According to Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue, upon arrival, crews discovered an aquarium filter pump that had caught on fire and begun to spread up the wall.
Firefighters quickly stopped the fire, preventing major damage from occurring.
“If the smoke alarm hadn’t gone off when it did, the fire would have been a lot worse before they even knew there was a problem.”

The only damages sustained were to the aquarium, drywall, and paint.
Those damages are estimated to be lower than $1,000.
