Armed robbery suspect charged in $9,000 holdup

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A Chattanooga man has been arrested for armed robbery after reportedly taking a woman’s purse that included over $9,000 dollars in cash Thursday.

Thirty two year old Anthony Maurice Brown was charged by the Dalton Police Department with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a gun, battery, felony theft by taking and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He’s still in the Whitfield County Jail.

The victim withdrew the money from a bank to buy a car.

She says Wilson took it at gunpoint.
