Array of drugs seized in Cherokee County home

CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. (WDEF) — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested three individuals in connection with a drug investigation. They say these three people had trafficking amounts of narcotics.

Agents performed a search warrant at a home belonging to Mandy Jane Fortner in Marble, North Carolina. She has previously been arrested multiple times for drug violations. She was previously arrested for trafficking methamphetamine as well.

The sheriff’s office arrested Fortner, along with Richard Bricault and Michelle Knight. All face drug charges.

Cherokee County law enforcement seized a variety of illegal drugs and some cash. Seized items include:

  • 275 grams of meth.
  • 12 grams of cocaine.
  • 112 grams of marijuana.
  • 2 grams of fentanyl.
  • 2 ecstasy pills.
  • 9 grams of mushrooms.
  • $1,269 in cash.

Bricault and Knight both face charges of possession of meth. They also have a $3,000 bond.

Fortner faces the most charges. Those include:

  • Possession of schedule 1 controlled substance, felony – 2 charges.
  • Possession of schedule 6, felony.
  • Mid-level trafficking meth, felony.
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor.
  • Maintaining dwelling, felony.
  • Possession of schedule 2, felony – 2 charges.
  • Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver, felony – 3 charges.

Fortner has a bond of $510,000.
