Arrest made in Cleveland playground fire

Cleveland, Tenn. (WDEF) – Deputies arrest a man they say is behind a fire that damaged a popular Cleveland playground.

Bradley County deputies say they’ve arrested Michael Lippencott on a warrant for arson, and misdemeanor violation of probation.

Lippencott is accused of setting a fire at the Tinsley Park playground earlier this month.

Firefighters say the blaze caused more than $100,000 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office says it only served the warrant, and is not the prosecuting agency.

Lippencott remains in the Bradley County jail.
