CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Eight months after the body of Carrie Lee Parkey was found in an Orange Grove Group Home, police have made an arrest in the case.

A grand jury has indicted 60 year old Cliftina K. Jones with Criminally Negligent Homicide.

On April 18th, staff members reported the body in a van.

Investigators did not find any visible signs of trauma and could not rule it an unnatural death. However, things seemed suspicious to CPD.

They have now reclassified the case a homicide.

The 60 year old Parkey had been part of the Orange Grove family since 1974.

In April, Orange Grove said “For more than six decades, Chattanoogans and the surrounding areas have entrusted us to care for and celebrate people with intellectual disabilities. This is a trust we take very seriously. We cannot emphasize how important it is for the community to know how much we value and care for each individual who comes through our doors on a daily basis.”

Here is Robyn Estabrook’s story back in April.
