Young Artists decorate Traffic Boxes for East Chattanooga streets

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – More than 1-hundred students from East Chattanooga are learning about electricity and circuits.

The students competed in a design project to beautify six traffic cabinets.

It’s all part of a program called “Life Energy,” but its teaching the kids more than just about electric currents.

In partnership with Public Art Chattanooga, Chattanooga Department of Transportation, and Orchard Knob Middle School, Brainerd, Howard, and Hixson High Schools, Mark Making facilitated workshops in which 133 students from East Chattanooga competed in a design competition culminating in the beautification of six traffic cabinets.

Students say it’s an honor to have their art work on display.
