Aryn Sanders Shines as Multi-Sport Star at Signal Mountain

Signal Mountain, TN-(WDEF) Signal Mountain’s Aryn Sanders may need her own Bo Knows commercials like Bo Jackson because she’s that good at so many different sports.

Basketball is where her star shines brightest.
She currently leads the Chattanooga area in scoring.

When you see Aryn Sanders, you’re looking at one of the top athletes in Chattanooga. She excels at basketball, volleyball, and track.
Said head basketball coach Kendra Bell-"She was all state last year in three sports. I don’t know, maybe it has been done before, but that’s unheard of."
In track, Sanders even participates in the pentathlon.
Said Sanders-"Two years ago my track coach was like, you are really athletic. We’ll just put you into it and see if you can get us some points. At sectionals, I ended up making it to state. It was really exciting."
Reporter-"Where did you finish at state?"
Sanders-"Sixth place."
Repoter-"That’s not bad."
Sanders-"I was pretty happy with it.(laughs)
Basketball may be Sanders top sport. She averages nearly 28-points a game.
Said Bell-"You know some games I look and I think, she had an OK night, and she’ll have 32."
Said teammate Lydia Bledsoe-"She doesn’t look super strong, but she actually is. I think that surprises people too."
Said Bell-"She’s faster with the basketball. I’ve never seen that. I’ve seen kids that are very fast with the basketball, but she’s faster."
Perhaps more impressive than Sanders points per game is her steals per game. She averages six steals a game. That’s better than what many teams average.
Said Sanders-"I think over the years I’ve started to read people better. Like I can tell where they are going to throw it."
Added Bledsoe-"I actually hate it more when she’s guarding the person I’m trying to throw it to because she’s usually going to get it."
Now another coach wants to steal Sanders away for yet another sport.
Said Sanders-"The softball coach is actually trying to talk to me about playing softball this spring. He says I can do both. I don’t know. He’s trying really hard. We’ll see how that goes." (laughter)
