Atlanta traffic ranks in the ten worst in the world
DETROIT (WDEF) – The United States dominates a list of the worst traffic cities in the world, according to a new report.
Transportation analytics firm Inrix crunched the numbers.
The U.S. had half of the top ten cities, including #1, Los Angeles.
L.A. drivers spent 104 hours stuck in traffic last year.
That beats Moscow at 91 hours and New York at 89.
The rest of top ten:
4. San Francisco
5. Bogota, Columbia
6. Sao Paulo, Brazil
7. London, England
8. Atlanta
9. Paris
10. Miami
Atlanta drivers spent 70.8 hours in congestion.
The city ranked 11th last year.
And senior economist at Inrix, Bob Pishue, says it’s not likely to improve this year.
“The demand for driving is expected to continue to rise, while the supply of roadway will remain flat,” he said in a statement.
Parkersburg, West Virginia had the least rush hour traffic in the top 240 cities of the country.
