AT&T Economic Development in Bradley County
Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – Three industrial parks in Bradley County are now fiber ready.
The Cleveland-Bradley Industrial Park, the Hiwassee Industrial Park and the Tasso Road Industrial Park now have this extremely high speed internet access.
It’s part of AT&T’s effort to help economic development in Tennessee.
Alan Hill is the Regional Director of external and legislative affairs for AT&T.
“So with the fiber there, you can do gig speed, or even above gig if that’s what the customer requires. So it really puts the foundational element in the ground or there to the customer, so they can have the types of services they need to run their business.”
The fiber expansion won’t stop with those three locations.
An empty field nearby is being developed into another industrial park that will be fiber ready.
The lack of high speed internet access has cost the area business in the past.
But Bradley County Mayor Gary Davis says that won’t be a problem in the future.
“When we’re recruiting industry, fiber, the telecommunications industry is more and more important of course everyday. We try to have all of the tools in that toolbox that we can possibly have.”
