Auburn’s Leading Receiver May Miss Georgia Game
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) – Auburn receiver D’haquille Williams isn’t expected to play against Georgia because of a knee injury.
Coach Gus Malzahn didn’t rule Williams out for Saturday night’s game but says "it’s probably unlikely."
Malzahn says Williams is "week to week right now" for the ninth-ranked Tigers after injuring his right knee against Texas A&M. The junior college transfer is leading Auburn with 38 catches for 609 yards and five touchdowns.
Auburn does have an experienced group of receivers led by Quan Bray and Sammie Coates. Malzahn says the Tigers "are in solid shape without Duke, if we have to play without him."
Melvin Ray and C.J. Uzomah filled in at times for him on Saturday.
