PREVIOUS STORY: Recovery efforts are underway after a man fell into the Chickamauga Lake Saturday.

According to Mime Barnes with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, officers responded to a call of a missing man near Hidden Harbor on Chickamauga Reservoir just before 6pm.

Barnes said that first responders were told a man was crossing between two cabin cruisers that were tied and anchored together when he slipped and fell into the water.

Barnes said persons on scene said the man did not resurface.

TWRA Boating Investigator Capt. Matt Majors said that recovery efforts include divers in the water and an underwater remote controlled operated vehicle.

“Its got sonar and camera on it and it’s very good at identifying targets on the bottom for our divers to check. So, with that being said we’ve got a good location. There’s a high likelihood that these divers or this technology will find him,” Capt. Majors said.
