AVA’s Capture Event Showcases Community Film Making

For the second straight year, the Association For Visual Arts presented the results of an ambitious video project giving everyone in Chattanooga a chance to take part.
The event is called Capture, and it gave anyone in the Scenic City the opportunity to upload video clips to the Capture website. Those clips were made into three short films, complete with music scored by local bands. This year’s theme is "Light and Shadow."
Filmmaker Denny Tedesco, director and producer of the documentary "The Wrecking Crew" picked the winner. That honor went to the film from 9 Line Production scored by Stratton Tingle. Tedesco was amazed by the talent he found right here in Chattanooga.
"I was actually blown away. Here’s why I was blown away. So many people were not professionals, and they grasp what it was like to live in Chattanooga. I’m not from Chattanooga, so I come from an outside perspective and I was blown away by every shot."
