Back to work at Tellico Village after weekend fire destroys clubhouse
TELLICO VILLAGE, Tennessee (WDEF) – A retirement community on the Little Tennessee River is already in recovery mode after a fire over the weekend.
The Tanasi Clubhouse was destroyed by fire Saturday at Tellico Village.
Diners were in the restaurant when the fire broke out around 4:40 PM.
No one was injured.
The cause was under investigation, but firefighters believe it was a kitchen fire.
By Monday morning, the golf club was up and running again.
They are using the starter shack for both golf and food operations.
Firefighters were able to save the golf carts which were parked next to the clubhouse and were highly flammable.
“We want to thank area first responders, our Tellico Village team and Villagers, and the entire East Tennessee community for their help and support during this time.”
