Baltimore Aircoil Company announces growth plans in Dayton
RHEA COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — New jobs are coming to Rhea County as Baltimore Aircoil Company is expanding operations. Gov. Bill Lee and Commissioner Stuart McWhorter announced the plans for growth on Wednesday morning.
Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) is investing $16.5 million to expand operations at their Dayton location.
They said this will create 63 new jobs at that site, bringing their employee count to more than 150.
“BAC could have chosen any of its global locations to expand, and we are grateful that this company will continue to call one of our state’s most rural regions home,” said Commissioner McWhorter. “We believe Dayton and Rhea County have the skilled workforce, central location and infrastructure needed to propel this company forward, supporting future expansions.”
The company said it has had a recent growth in its dry coil and adiabatic cooling equipment.
BAC plans to improve the facility and site, coil manufacturing equipment, material handling equipment and craneage.
The company is a leader in HVAC, industrial and refrigeration industries worldwide, according to state leaders. It designs commercial and industrial cooling equipment, and is based out of Jessup, Maryland.
