Bates Denied New Trial

CLEVELAND, TN (WDEF) – A Bradley County judge denied Natasha Bates a new trial Friday.

The Cleveland mother is serving two consecutive life sentences after killing her two small boys.

They died of hyperthermia in June of 2012 when the heat index reached well over 100 degrees.

We’re told Bates’ attorney, Richard Hughes, filed a motion for a new trial, but was denied this morning.

Bates is currently at the women’s prison near Nashville.
