Baylor Boy’s Swimming Team Takes State Title

KNOXVILLE, TN- After two exciting days of incredible competition at the 2015 TISCA State Swimming & Diving Championships, the Baylor School has pulled away to claim the Men’s, and combined state titles. This is the third year in a row that the Baylor School has won the men’s championship, and the tenth year in a row for the combined title. The girls finished fourth overall in the team standings.

 

Team Scores Men: 1. Baylor School 273 2. MUS 201 3. Bearden 172 4. Science Hill 163 5. MHEA 135

 

Team Scores Women: 1. Harpeth Hall 250 2. Hardin Valley 210 3. GPS 194 4. Baylor School 153 5. St. Mary’s Episcopal 147

 

Combined Team Scores: 1. Baylor School 426 2. Science Hill 285 3. Hardin Valley 246 4. MHEA 244 5. Brentwood 236

 

The major story of the meet was the sweep in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay events for the Baylor School boys. The 200 Medley relay team of Chandler Espy, Matthew Boyer, Christian Selby, and Gershwin Greene took the title in 1:32.20. The same foursome also captured the 200 free relay, racing to a time of 1:23.11. The 400 free relay team of Christian Selby, Jack Best, Will Raines, and Trey Freeman finished the meet off with a state title in the event with a time of 3:04.45.

 

The Baylor School girls 200 free relay team of Missy Karman, Maggie Stovall, Caroline Boone, and LeeAnne McMaster were just touched out for the top spot taking second with a time of 1:35.38. Harpeth Hall finished first with a time of 1:35.20.
