Baylor Gets Rematch With MBA in State Playoff Semifinals

Chattanooga-(WDEF) Baylor can punch their ticket to the state championship game tonight with a road win against MBA.
Red Raiders have to feel confident, since they have already beaten the Big Red this season.
After losing four straight towards the end of the season, Baylor coach Phil Massey believes his team found their identity, which included more production from quarterback Nick Tiano.
Said head coach Phil Massey,"It’s important for him to be able to not only throwing the football and be effective there, but also in running the football. So he has become more important in our running game."
Said Tiano,"I’ve been able to run it the last few weeks and help our team with that. I think that has kind of helped us. Added another dimension that a lot of teams weren’t expecting us to have."
Said Massey,"Defensively though, I think guys are just now taking really ownership in our defense."
Said linebacker Ryan Parker,"We came together honestly. We decided we have to do something about this. We do not like losing. Losing is the last thing we want on our mind. We decided. We all got down and sat down and said, we’re done with this."
Baylor travels to MBA tonight, a team they beat earlier this year 23-20.
Said Massey,"That’s probably the most complete game we had all year, so we’re really going to need to try to ditto that against this week."
Said Tiano,"We have to play well. Play our best game. They’re going to want to get back at us, so we’re going to have to play even harder this time."
Said Parker,"We know we can beat them. Of course we are ranked lower than them. But seeing how we have done it before, gives us hope. And the way we’ve been playing with our defense being as strong as it is, really gives it that extra little boost of confidence going into the game."
The Red Raiders are looking to return to the state title game for the first time since 2011.
Said Massey,"We’ve got an opportunity this year. This would be if we could win this weekend, it will be out third trip to the state finals in the last five years."
