Baylor tennis coach arrested for meth
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – A Baylor School tennis coach finds himself behind bars after authorities receive a tip he traveled to Whitfield County to purchase methamphetamine.
51-year-old Phillip Johnson stands accused of Attempt or Conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substance Act and other charges.
Johnson was stopped by officers after purchasing the drug.
He also had a firearm in his possession.
He is currently being held in the Whitfield County Jail without bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
The sheriff’s office said it received information the Ooltewah man “frequently” came to Whitfield County to purchase meth.
