Baylor’s Max LeBlanc Features Coveted Tight End Skill Set
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Baylor is facing McCallie on Thursday night with a state title on the line.
One player for the Red Raiders who’s expected to shine is their tight end, Max LeBlanc.
Brian Armstrong explains.
Said Baylor head coach Erik Kimrey: “So anytime you have a guy that’s that talented with that high character, it really bodes well for your team.”
Max LeBlanc came to Baylor from his home country of Canada and has been making big plays since.
Said Kimrey:”He brings a lot of skill, and he’s a great leader. His work ethic is one of the best on the team. And he’s a guy that pays attention to his craft and I think the guys watch. A very talented young man and his preparation for a coach.
Eric Kimrey is a former tight ends coach at the University of South Carolina, so he knows a talented tight end
Said Kimrey: “He’s so skilled in terms ball and runs routes that He’s just kind of one of those unique animals there that can do it all. And as he grows and gets bigger, you know, the tight end blocking C gap game comes really natural to him.
Said LeBlanc: ” I think my size and what I can do, my skills with my size, yeah. I can block, I can run, I can catch. And yeah, I think I can bring a lot to this team.
LeBlanc will be playing football at the next level at The Ohio State University.
Said LeBlanc: “Growing up in Canada Ohio State was the team I was watching when I was younger. So it’s always been
my favorite college team. And yeah, and whenever I got to campus, uh, the first feeling I got, like the first five minutes, I knew it was the right place.
Said Kimrey: ” Listen, God gifted him with a lot of ability, so I can’t say that I have anything to do with it. But what I can try to do is provide him with the expectations, um, that he’s gonna have when he goes to Ohio State in terms of how he prepares, how he practices and hold him accountable to those things. And that’s what he wants.”
