Belmont Guard Jacobi Wood Regaining His Form After Tough Ankle Injury
Nashville, TN (WDEF-TV) – Former Cleveland high basketball stand-out Jacobi Wood had a fun time on the court last night as his Belmont team beat the Chattanooga Mocs. Wood posted five points and four assists in the Bruins victory. He was limited to 21 minutes of playing time. Wood expected to be on the floor a lot more during his sophomore season, but he dislocated his ankle in the summer. Right now, he says he’s about 85 or 90 percent healthy.
Said Wood:”It was. The therapy and the rehab. It took. It was supposed to be 10 weeks, but I got to come back a little early, so that’s why I got to play in all the games that we’ve had this year. Yeah it was frustrating at first, but it’s all apart of God’s plan. That’s what has kind of helped me be mentally better with that.”
Reporter:”Seems like Belmont basketball fits your style of play.”
Said Wood:”Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. I think that’s the main reason I came here. I saw that beforehand before committing. I thought I could be good with this offense, and the whole team we have, so it has been working good for me.”
