Big Orange Enjoy Being Back in Big Dance

The Big Orange is back in the Big Dance.
While Tennessee just missed out on a one seed, it’s kind of hard to complain when you get a two seed, and you’re playing close to home in Charlotte.

Said guard Santiago Vescovi:”Like coach was saying. Sometimes we take for granted making the tournament. I think it’s a big accomplishment. The fact that we made it six years in-a-row. It’s a really fun tournament to play in.”

Said forward Tobe Awaka:”The tournament is something that never every team gets to experience. The fact that we get to experience it is amazing. It’s something we are definitely grateful for. We are going to take hold of the opportunity.”

Said Vescovi:”It could be really fun if we all click at the same time. We know now that it’s go time. Now it’s where it really matters. I’m very confident in the team that we are going to do it.”

The second seeded Vols face the 15th seeded Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Game tips at 9:20 and will be televised on TNT.

It’s only the second ever meeting between these two teams.

The previous match-up was in March of 1984 in the NIT tournament, which Tennessee won 54-40.

Tennessee is 25-26 all-time in NCAA Tournament action, including 6-5 in its first five appearances under ninth-year head coach Rick Barnes.
