Birmingham minister convicted in death of estranged wife
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – A Birmingham minister has been found guilty of murder in the death of his estranged wife.
Al.com reports 52-year-old James Davis was convicted Wednesday in the death of 55-year-old Stephanie Grigsby Davis.
Jefferson County Deputy District Attorney Matt Casey says the two had been married for 25 years and Stephanie Davis had south a protection order after the filed for divorce and moved out of the couple’s house.
Witnesses have said Davis fatally shot the woman in June of 2014 at a behavioral health center she worked at. Davis was also convicted of kidnapping for asking a neighbor for a ride and later ordering the man to drive away from the scene of the shooting at gunpoint.
Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on May 10.
