Bledsoe County superintendent set to resign for new role in west Tennessee
BLEDSOE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Bledsoe County Schools will be looking for a new leader.
Selina Sparkman has taken the superintendent job in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.
Lauderdale County is located in West Tennessee.
Sparkman has been the superintendent in Bledsoe County since 2021.
There will be a special called meeting of the Bledsoe County School Board where she will turn in her resignation.
The board will then select a new interim director, and how the search for a new director will be conducted.
Sparkman is set to begin her role in Lauderdale County on July 14, 2025.
When asked about the move, Sparkman told Lauderdale Schools she was honored to join the family.
“Together with our dedicated educators, families, and community partners, I look forward to building on the district’s strong foundation and working toward a future where every student is prepared to reach their full potential and succeed. This is an exciting new chapter, and I’m committed to listening, learning, and leading with a focus on excellence.”
