BLEDSOE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) conducted a traffic stop on October 21 in the Big Springs Gap Road area, resulting in an arrest for drug trafficking.

BCSO deputies developed probable cause to search a vehicle, leading them to discover methamphetamine, marijuana, a handgun, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shelia Watts.

Watts was taken into custody and has been charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine for resale
  • Possession of marijuana for resale
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

“This is exactly the kind of criminal activity that destroys families and threatens the safety of rural communities like ours. My deputies will continue to work aggressively to intercept illegal drugs and weapons before they reach our neighborhoods. If you bring drugs into Bledsoe County—expect to go to jail.”

– Bledsoe County Sheriff Jimmy Morris
