Blood Assurance need donors with O-negative blood type
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Blood Assurance officials hope when you’re out and about this holiday weekend, you’ll consider donating blood.
Blood Assurance is in desperate need of O-negative blood now during the holidays.
O-negative is always critically needed since it’s the universal donor blood.
That means O-negative blood can be transfused into people with other blood types.
Charlie Callari works as the V.P. of Marketing & Recruiting at Blood Assurance. He explained, "Typically around the holiday time we do see a little slow down in terms of donors, but it is important for everyone to realize that every day we need the blood donors to come in. Every day we need 540 donors to step through our doors, even in the holiday times, every single day."
Most Blood Assurance donor centers in our area are open Monday through Saturday.
