Body found dead in Rhea County Recovery Effort

RHEA COUNTY, Tennessee (WDEF)- Rhea County Sheriff Office Detective Rocky Potter says one person was recovered and pronounced dead on the scene.

There was only one person as the other person thought to be there had left the location earlier. A language barrier within the contractor and subcontractor led to the earlier unknown information.

Potter says the contractor didn’t know the other person left the site and went to the staging area. Around 730 or eight Saturday they realize the second person was off the property and gave the approximate location.

Potter says the body was found just before 1 AM. The family has been notified.
