Bond set at $64,000 for alleged hit-and-run driver facing DUI and felony drug charges

HIXSON, Tennessee (WDEF) –  A judge set the bond at $64,500 for a motorist who not only admitted to police that he hit another motorist without stopping, but was also caught with illegal narcotics.

William Bradshaw II, 44, of Soddy Daisy was arrested Wednesday evening after an alleged hit-and-run crash in the 1300 block of Ely road.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by New 12, Bradshaw failed to maintain his lane when he struck a motorist traveling in the opposite direction.  After the collision, Bradshaw reportedly left the scene without stopping.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit managed to follow Bradshaw to a location in the 1800 block of William Road and wait for police to arrive.

According to officers at the scene, Bradshaw was in possession of narcotics that included heroin, 200 pills of Xanax with no prescription and other drug paraphernalia. Bradshaw also failed a field sobriety test.

When questioned about the crash, Bradshaw told officers he knew he had struck another vehicle and made a bad choice by leaving the scene. He also admitted to police that earlier in the day, he had smoked meth and taken the drug Celexa.

Bradshaw was charged with:

  • DUI
  • Possession of Xanax for resale
  • Possession of Heroin for resale
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Leaving scene of accident
  • Failure to maintain a lane
  • Failure to render aid
  • Failure to report an accident
  • Expired registration
  • Driving without auto insurance

Bradshaw’s next court date is August 24.
