News 12’s Brian Armstrong finds out what makes the star junior so special, both on and off the field.

Boyd Buchanan’

s Brodie Johnston seems to make big play after big play.

Said head coach Stephen Pryor:”I would say the most special thing this year is we were playing Ootlewah I think I was in the first game of the season bases loaded one out we get a chopper to short stop ataxic comes in and flips it back in the second base to turn the AA to get out of the game we won one nothing. That’s very, let’s play you don’t see very often in high school baseball.”

He is hitting 667 and has 8 homers on the season.

Said Johnston:”I don’t even look at any of that whatever happens happens I just get out there and work every day and try to get better and beat everybody else.”

Said Pryor:”The special thing about him it’s not a Me leader ship it’s only by example. Go see what he’s doing I want to beat them him out and drills and it makes us better as a team.”

He is also committed to Vanderbilt which has been a dream of his almost his whole life.

Said Johnston:”It was always been my dream school since I was a little kid. It’s on TV they make the World Series every year it’s just crazy it’s just been a dream come true.”

His coaching staff says all of his success isn’t a fluke.  It’s due to all the hard work and doing it the right way.

Said Pryor:”Where do you work so hard. He’s the hardest work we have on the team and he deserves all the success he said so far he’s a very humble kid who just keeps his nose down and continues to work so sky is the limit for him.”
