Boyd Speedway Set to Host Outlaw Sprint Cars This Weekend

Ringgold, GA-(WDEF-TV) We got a bunch of outlaws in town this weekend for a shootout.
Outlaw Sprint Cars highlight the Scenic City Shootout at Boyd Speedway.

The winged outlaw sprint cars will race both Friday and Saturday night starting at seven o’clock. The two night event is bringing in over 100 drivers from at least seven states. These sprint cars approach speeds of 120 miles per hour. Defending USCS national champion Danny Smith will make his first appereance at the Boyd Speedway, and he hopes to entertain the fans.

Said Smith:”We just kind of compare it to tracks that we’ve been to. All the tracks that we run on they are all in circles. We just go through are notes and find something close.”

Said Boyd track owner Larry Dismukes:”It’s getting to know the drivers because the difference between this and NASCAR is these guys are working every day just like you or I at our jobs, so they’re spending their 40 hours a week working and these guys are turning around and working 30 to 40 hours at night to what equates to a 15 minute feature race.”
