Bradley Central Girls Capture Ninth Straight District Tournament Title

Soddy Daisy, TN-(WDEF-TV) Bradley Central captured their 9th straight district title on Monday night as they beat East Hamilton 52-45 in the championship game of the District 5-AAA tournament at Soddy Daisy High School. First half was tight until Hurricanes Miss Basketball finalist Madison Hayes picked up her third foul midway through the second quarter and went to the bench for the rest of the quarter. When Hayes went out, the Bearettes built a ten point lead before settling for a 31-23 advantage at halftime. Bradley Central pushed the lead to 15 points in the third quarter. East Hamilton fought back in the final moments before falling by seven points. Madison Hayes led all scorers with 18 points. Anna Walker led Bradley Central with 13 points.The two clubs shooting numbers were almost identical. East Hamilton hit 16 of 45 shots on the night, while Bradley Central was 15 of 44. However, the Bearettes were able to connect on nine three-pointers, while East Hamilton had just three treys.
