Bradley Central Holds State Title Celebration For Bearettes Basketball Team
Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) The Bradley Central Bearettes won their second straight basketball state title this month.
That calls for a big celebration.
Crank up the band! ’cause it feels good to win back-to-back state titles.
A crowning achievement.
Said head coach Jason Reuter:”It’s very difficult to win it back-to-back. It doesn’t mean you don’t have the talent. There are just so many variables that could happen. Injuries. We skirted around two different major injuries.”And what do the coaches and players see when they stare into that gold ball.
Said forward Kimora Fields:”It’s more than a reward. It gives you that good feeling like I worked for that, and we deserve that.”
Said guard Avary Brewer:”I see a lot of hard work and dedication. A lot of team work.”
Coach Reuter says a state title brings pride to your school and helps put the school on the map.
Reuter:”I think people around the state know where Bradley County is and a lot of that is a reflection of state titles.”
The drum-beat for a three-peat also echoed through Jim Smiddy Arena.
Said Bradley Co Mayor Gary Davis:” I’m here today to tell you. We will be back next year to celebrate back-to-back-to-back state championships.”
Said Fields:”I think we are all so eager to do something like that. I think we have a great team to do it.”
Said Reuter:”Once again. We got the players. We got the players to do it. But we’ve got to stay healthy and humble.”
