Bradley Central Wins Wrestling Showdown Against Rival Cleveland 42-21
Cleveland, TN-(WDEF) In a battle of top ten wrestling teams, Bradley Central beat rival Cleveland 42-21 on Thursday evening at Bradley Central high school.
The first match came in the 126 pound weight class, and the Bears Joshua LaCoe pinned Tristan Blansit to give Bradley Central a 6-0 lead.
The next match featured a battle of two of the top wrestlers in the state. Cleveland’s Colton Landers is number one in the 132 pound weight class, while Bradley Central’s Hunter Parker is number two. Landers won this match on a 7-2 decision.
Knox Fuller gave Bradley Central a pin in the 138 pound division as he pinned Cody Mathews.
The Bears Donnie Beyer added a pin in the 152 pound division to push Bradley Central’s lead to 21-3. Cleveland bounced back in the next three matches, which included a pin from Robert Hicks in the 170-pound weight class. The Blue Raiders eventually cut the lead to 21-18, but Bradley out-scored Cleveland 21-3 to close out the evening to win it by a final of 42-21.
