Bradley Central’s Marcus Goree Discusses Decision to Commit to Vols

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) Bradley Central standout Marcus Goree Jr is staying close to home to play college football at the next level. The Tennessee Vol commit spoke with News 12s Brian Armstrong about why he picked UT.

Said Goree: Hopefully I can run a 4.3 when I get in college.

Bradley Central’s Marcus Goree Junior is a force on the football field.

Said Bradley Central head coach Damon Floyd: As freshman year, you know, the first day of practice, seeing him run around and, you know, he actually started as a freshman. So we knew he had special talent. And obviously he’s grown a lot since being a freshman. He’s been put on about 40, 45 pounds, gotten a little faster, stronger. So, you know, it’s rare to have a kid like this. And we’re very fortunate to have him on our team.

Said Goree: A lot of people try to talk about like, I’m on the way, but I use my size very well. I’m I’m glad I got along there, too. So but, you know, when I tell you, I just put all my weight on, you know, they’re going to go down no matter how big they are. So playing the game, more weight get bigger, stronger, faster.

And he expects to be a force at the next level as he’s part of the Tennessee Bulls secondary.

Said Floyd: Obviously, he’s a great player, but the thing I like about him most is a great teammate. You know, he cares about the people around him and he’s a hard worker and, you know, other players on our team get to see how hard he works and then the benefits from working hard. So there’s no negatives with Marcus on our team.

He was down to two schools, Colorado and Tennessee. And with Colorado being part of his final two teams, it means he got to talk with all time. Great coverage corner Deion Sanders. And it was all business

Said Goree: about how the way the program was going to be run in in a few years out of jury, stuff like that. They thinking about bringing in you know you know how we feel about the school, the stuff that’s like, you know, the conversations like that.

But Josh Heupel and Tennessee won out.

Said Floyd: I think it’s somebody that a lot of kids are going to want to play for. And I think it had an impact on Marcus is the relationship that he built with coach type one Coach Martinez So yeah, you know, coach was come down a couple times. So there’s a lot of people around the school that enjoy that,

And that’s something Gore’s dad is happy about.

Said Goree: Now, my dad loves Tennessee, not so much to my mom, but my dad and some of my siblings.
