Bradley County Sheriff’s Office employees receive higher pay
BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Starting Monday, employees of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office are receiving higher pay.
According to the sheriff’s office, the starting salary for correctional officers is now $41,000 and $43,000 for patrol deputies.
Current employees get a raise as well.
“The plan also outlines step increases for an employee’s years of service with the agency,” they added.
In addition, employees may receive education pay in the form of an additional supplement based on education level.
Bradley County authorities state the reason is to help combat high inflation, reduce employee turnover and attract new applicants.
“The reason this is a good thing for our agency is we have had some voids the past couple of years, trying to fill our patrol side or correctional officer side. And we believe this step plan is going to help us get more applicants,” Public Information Officer Paul Allen said.
A commission approved the step plan for higher pay on July 3.
