Bradley County superintendent, sheriff comment on school fight videos

BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — An article in the Cleveland Daily Banner over the weekend is raising concerns about fighting in the school systems.

The paper was sent links to fight videos at Lake Forest Middle and various Bradley County Schools.

Both the school superintendent and Sheriff appeared on Mix 104 Monday morning to share their concerns about the social media videos.

“Most of these are older. So, people are gathering the old videos trying to intrigue people to watch these. Better be careful, because not everything we see on social media is exactly the truth,” said Bradley County Sheriff Steve Lawson.

“We do need to address this social media and help our parents understand that by the time we figure out what’s going on, it’s already changed and moved,” said Bradley County Superintendent Dr. Linda Cash.

The sheriff says his officers responded to 13 fights in schools last year.
