Bradley Sheriff says his department is 4th in state for clearing burglaries

CLEVELAND (WDEF) – Sheriff Eric Watson says the new TBI crime stats rank Bradley County near the top for clearing burglary cases.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Department ranks 4th in the state (the 3 counties ahead of them are all smaller).

54% of their crimes against persons and property were solved.

That is up from 30% in 2014.

The sheriff also says the state average for clearing “Crimes Against Persons” is 49%.

His department’s number is 87%.

Sheriff Watson says “it is important victims of these cases are reassured that we diligently investigate in order to identify the perpetrator(s).”

“My office recognizes the seriousness of resolving these cases in order to recover stolen property, and to reduce the possibility of the suspect(s) performing additional burglaries.”
