Brainerd Community Food Pantry Celebrates Four Years of Compassionate Service to Chattanooga Neighbors in Need
The Brainerd Community Food Pantry is proudly celebrating four years of dedicated service to neighbors in need here in Chattanooga. Founded in 2020 in response to the pandemic, the pantry quickly mobilized volunteers to support those facing food insecurity due to job loss and economic struggles.
“We started during the pandemic in 2020 as a way to meet the needs of the community when people weren’t receiving proper paychecks. We’ve kept going since then, and now we’re celebrating four years of operations. I love being able to help this community,” said Sarah Moore, coordinator of the Brainerd Food Pantry.
Since its founding, the pantry has mobilized dedicated volunteers to provide essential food supplies to families in need, quickly becoming a cornerstone of support in the area.
“Some members of the Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church community came together to gather resources and realized that the need in the area was quite high during COVID. So, we banded together and really started something here that we could do for the community,” said Sarah Moore, coordinator of the Brainerd Food Pantry.
