Brand News: From Feeding Your Lawn to Feeding Your Head

New York (WDEF) – The line from their TV commercials is "Feed Your Lawn.  Feed It."

But not Scotts Miracle-Gro is looking to feed a new kind of herb growth.

A subsidiary they formed just last fall has bought a California-based hydroponics company that is used by marijuana growers.

The deal should position them to enter the growing, legal marijuana market.

CEO Jim Hagedorn has been talking pot since 2011.

His company already targets young, urban dwellers.

And he says the marijuana business will only help them hit that demographic.
