Brand News: Taco Bell Ditches Waffle Taco for Biscuit Taco
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Out with the Waffle Taco, and in with a new biscuit taco.
2015 is proving to be another big year for new Taco Bell innovations.
CEO Brian Niccol says the breakfast sensation that was the Waffle Taco has now run its course.
So this week they begin phasing it out with the new morning biscuit taco.
It comes in egg, bacon and fried chicken versions.
The fired chicken comes with a breading made of crumbled tortilla chips.
And it will be served beyond breakfast hours.
More is on the way for Taco Bell.
The Quesalupa is coming in the second half of the year.
It is kind of a fat taco, with melted Pepper Jack cheese inside a flaky shell.
The chain is also testing Cap’n Crunch Delights, which are donut holes made from the cereal, and a Frito Taco (see slide show).
