Braves Enjoying Fantastic Turnaround in 2018 Thanks to Young Prospects

What a difference a year makes for Atlanta.
At this time last season, they were 18 games out of first.
On Tuesday the Bravos sit in first place in the National League East.
Atlanta has surprised a lot of people with their climb to the top because they’re getting the job done with some young prospects.

No flop in the chop this season. One year after losing 90 games, the Braves could possibly win 90 games this season.
Said utility player Charlie Culberson:”It’s a new year. It’s easy to dwell on the past if you want, but we’re not doing that this year. I think we are doing a pretty good job of taking it one day at a time.”
And one prospect at a time.
Young guys like Johan Camargo, Ozzie Albies, and Ronald Acuna have delivered power, and pizazz.
Said Culberson:”It’s kind of what we expected. I think we are kind of opening up some eyes this year, but we need those young guys to come through, and they’ve been doing that and more so. It has been a lot of fun just trying to ride it out.”
Added outfielder Nick Markakis:”We have had guys trickle in. It has been a work in progress. It’s starting to show now. We feed off each other. We play well together, and we’ve just got to continue what we are doing.”
And if the guys keep feeding off each other, SunTrust Park may become ‘FunTrust Park’ this fall.
Said second baseman Ozzie Albies:”It’s great for us to keep playing hard and win ball games so we can get us to the playoffs.”
Reporter:”Freddie (Freeman) said he doesn’t even know if they realize they are in the thick of a playoff race.”
Said manager Brian Snitker:”Yeah. That’s just them. Everyday they just play like their hair is on fire, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
Said Albies:”Like I said, we just we keep playing. Come with a different mentality, and we hope to just keep doing good.”
