Brick dedication ceremony held to honor veterans
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The National Medal of Honor Heritage Center held a brick dedication to honor service members on Saturday morning.
Donors and supporters could purchase bricks to recognize loved ones.
The bricks represent service from those who served in the military or in the community.
“They go a long way in supporting our mission, which is to provide a place that recognizes service here in this community,” Director of Development Kenny Turpen said.
Bricks are dedicated three times a year in honor of service members.
These bricks further the mission of the center by honoring the past and inspiring the future.
“That tells the stories of Medal of Honor recipients so that they aren’t lost and really what we also focus on doing here is teaching about the character traits that are associated with the Medal of Honor,” Turpen said.
