Cadion Harris a Three Sport Star For East Ridge

East Ridge, TN-(WDEF-TV)

If you go to any kind of East Ridge athletic event, then you’ll likely see Cadion Harris in action for the Pioneers.

Dude is everywhere. He’s a three sport star. Football, basketball, and track. News 12’s Brian Armstrong catches up with the talented Harris.

Said head basketball coach Tre High:”Every Sunday, he’s here. He’s here working out. He’s in the gym. He’s putting in work in to be better.”

Cadion Harris is a do it all athlete for East Ridge High School. Regardless of the season, he’s making a play on the football field, the basketball court, or the track.

Said High:The football helps a lot. The track helps even more with his agility and stuff like that. So, he’s a pretty tough kid.

Said Harris:”Keep my body rest up, man. Work out a lot. I’m used to it. Been doing it since I was a kid. Same old same.”

Harris has matured on and off the court during his time at East Ridge.

Harris:”I used to be kind of childish. I mean, I’ve kind of stepped away from that and made myself better from the ninth grade.

High:”Well, he started coming over at the end of his eighth grade year. So by him coming over then now, I mean, you can see the growth. The growth is unreal. He’s I mean, his body’s changed. He’s just real thin kid in the beginning, but his body’s changed and he changed speeds with the best of it.

Not only can Harris get a bucket, he can also set a teammate up for success.

Said High:”At any point in time, it’s one of those things you can just say we normally, we try to get him downhill. So that’s our biggest thing is trying to get our guards downhill. So if we can get him off a screen and get him to the, in the paint, I mean, when he shoots it in the paint, we think it’s going in always.

I size up the defense actually, I have to see and move around, make my teammates move. I really appreciate my teammates too. They helped me score and they helped me get down a lot as well. Brian Armstrong, News 12 Sports.
