Calhoun Yellow Jackets Headed to State Title Game After Beating Westminster
Calhoun beat Westminster 19-8 on Friday to advance to the Class AAA state title game. The Yellow Jackets had a huge goal line stand to start the second quarter.
They held the Wildcats on four tries from the two yard line.
Calhoun got on the board with under two minutes to go before halftime. Kaelen Riley threw a 27 yard touchdown pass to Thomas Lester to make it 6-0 at the half.
The duo hooked up again on the Yellow Jackets first play of the third quarter. A 55-yard touchdown strike to make it 12-0. Riley added another touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
Calhoun will battle Washington Co for the state championship.
