Calliope Restaurant in New York Times Top 50

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) — A Chattanooga restaurant just got national attention.

Calliope Modern Levantine was named one of the top 50 restaurants in America.

The New York Times placed it on their annual list, making it one of only two in Tennessee to receive the honor.

Calliope serves cuisine inspired by the middle east and the mediterranean, reflecting the chef’s Jordanian roots.

Chef Khaled Albanna said,”It gave us the confirmation, affirmation that we’re going in the correct direction. We’re motivated even more to continue going forward. I believe the whole team has put in a lot of work to get us to reach where we’re at and I’m just excited for what’s next.”

The restaurant opened in 2021, and has been a popular spot for dinners and events ever since.
