ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – Residents of Grundy County are saluting a World War II veteran on his birthday today.
Mr. Thomas Rollins turns 97 on Tuesday.
Sor residents are orchestrating a balloon delivery for him at the Grundy County Courthouse at 5 PM (CST).
They need 97 people to form a convoy parade to make the delivery.
The convoy will meet at the courthouse and then drive to his home.
Mr. Rollins will be sitting in a car to great you (because of his declining health, he won’t be out long).
They hope the whole thing will take just 30 minutes.
Organizers have the balloons, they just want people to hand them out their window to him and then drive on.
