Candelight Vigil For Shooting Victim Christopher “Binky” Woodard
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- 20-year-old Christopher Woodard died from gunshot wounds and tonight a memorial was set at the site of his death on 12th Street.
Woodard was yet another victim of a gang related shooting last Friday where he and 23-year-old Jumoke Johnson was found dead in their car.
It has been confirmed that Woodard had no affiliation with any gangs, but now family members are speaking out on the man they all know as “Binky”.
“I named him.. he used to love the movie Baby’s Day Out when he was a little bitty baby and I would sit him in front of the TV and put that movie on and he would watch it and he would talk back to the movie and act with it like he actually knew what that other little baby in the movie was doing and I told his mom. I say I’m gone name him baby Bink and that’s where he got that name from the movie Baby Day’s Out,” said Angela Woodard.
“Pray for the family, keep our family in your prayers and I just want to thank everybody for coming out to the candlelight and I just love you and I miss you so much and god bless.”
“Our young people need to just come together and stop all this fighting and shooting at each other cuz it ain’t gone make things better doing this.
And just try and come together and please just stop the violence around the city , around the community everybody needs to come together as one,” said William Woodard Jr.
